Q: Can I apply to the competition even if I am not from Washington state or the United States?

A: Yes! While our organization is based in Washington state, everyone in grades 6-12 can apply to our competition regardless of location.

Q: Can I submit to multiple categories

(Environment, Economics, Social)?

A: Yes, you are welcome to apply to more than one category! However, each idea must be unique. For example, you may not do the same presentation/video for both Environment and Economic. Here is more information about the categories you may apply to.

Q: Can I collaborate with others on my submission? Will they receive credit too?

A: Yes, submissions can be the product of collaborative work but can only be submitted once under the name of one member. Please note that all competition updates will only be sent to this member submitting the application. However, the other members will also be recognized and receive the award. Presentations are not limited to a set amount of people.

Q: Do I need to cite my sources?

A: Please include work cited for your submission. The works cited will not affect the video and presentation duration. Here is more information on guidelines.

Q: For video submissions, can I edit the video with graphics, voiceovers, etc.? Do I need to film myself talking?

A: The video can be edited to your preference or left as raw footage. Just ensure that you follow all the video guidelines. You can find a sample here.

Q: For presentation submissions, do I need to have visual aids such as a PowerPoint?

A: No, you do not have to have visual aids. You can find a sample here.
